Accommodation (Hotels & Short Term Rentals)

Hey, have you ever checked out Booking.com? It’s our go-to when we’re comparing prices for accommodation – especially when travelling in Europe.

Believe it or not, Booking.com has a wide range of properties to choose from. With over 1 Million options including hotels, apartments and even hostels!

And have I mentioned you get free cancellation? So say goodbye to worrying about commitments months in advance!

Save on your hotel - hotelscombined.com

Have you heard of HotelsCombined? It’s not just your typical hotel booking site. Think of it as a hotel search engine of search engines.

They search hundreds of providers, including the top 20 sites, to offer you a wide range of deals.

Plus, they have a neat “Price Alert” feature that notifies you via e-mail when the price drops below 10%.

The Agoda platform makes discounted rates available at approximately 2.9 million hotels and private homes around the globe, ranging from budget options to five-star luxury stays. Their range of accommodation types is diverse, as travellers can book everything from tents to treehouses to tropical villas in more than 200 countries and territories around the world. In addition, Agoda lists more than 1.5 million private homes, such as city apartments, family homes, and pool villas.

We love using VRBO (part of the Expedia group) as our go-to search engine for home or apartment rentals. Not only can it be cheaper than hotels, but staying in unique neighbourhoods gives you an authentic local experience.

Lately, we’ve been turning to VRBO instead of AirBNB and have found some amazing spots. It’s like discovering your own little hidden gem in a new city or rural getaway!

Homestay.com is a legitimate website.   And many of the homestays also cater to families.   Aside of the value of living life like a local, they are often much cheaper than hotels.
I would however, highly recommend that you read all the reviews before choosing your homestay.

Love animals?  Do you want to travel more sustainably and with no accommodation costs?

Then check out Trusted House Sitters.  They have sitter requests worldwide and many of them also cater to families.

Planes, trains, Ferries & automobiles....

Hey, have you heard about Omio? It’s an all-in-one travel comparison and planning website and app that helps you find the best way to get from point A to point B. Unlike other travel search engines, which only find flights, Omio looks for trains, buses, cars, and ferries, to get you where you need to go.

I gotta say, I’m impressed with Omio. It’s super easy to use, and you get extensive results really fast. It’s especially great if you’re planning a trip around Europe or the UK. Trust me, you’ll definitely want to check it out!
