We love using VRBO (part of the Expedia group, but only available for UK stays) as our go-to search engine for home or apartment rentals. Not only can it be cheaper than hotels, but staying in unique neighbourhoods gives you an authentic local experience. Lately, we’ve been turning to VRBO instead of AirBNB and have found some amazing spots. It’s like discovering your own little hidden gem in a new city or rural getaway!

Trusted House Sitters is a wonderful platform for helping pet owners find trustworthy people to look after their pets whilst they go on vacation.  I would recommend this for long-term stays or at least a few weeks; looking after pets can be time-consuming, and you’ll need time to explore! However, if you are the type that’s just happy hanging out with a pet in tow, then this is perfect!

Homestay.com offers many homestays throughout the world. and many of them cater for family groups It’s an excellent way to fully immerse yourself in a new country/culture.   I would recommend doing your homework and reading all the reviews before choosing your homestay though.

The perfect way to travel with a toddler!
