Best areas of Porto to stay with kids

The Ribeira

If you’re keen to be right at the centre of the action in Porto, you won’t go wrong with Ribeira, the tourist hotspot that lines one side of the bustling riverbank. Just be prepared for the prices, which tend to reflect the primo location. Keep in mind, though, that much of the city slopes uphill from here, so you’ll find yourself trekking upwards to see many of the sights.

Aliados & Bolhão

If you’re looking for a convenient base to explore Porto, you might want to check out the area around Aliados & Bolhão. It’s just one stop from Trindade, which is the city’s main metro interchange, so cross-town exploring is a breeze. One thing to note is that accommodation prices can be a bit steep, and the area can get pretty bustling and noisy once the sun goes down.
